Terms of Service

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Finch & Hatton website and the purchase of products from us. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

Finch & Hatton is operated by a sole trader registered in New South Wales, Australia. ABN available on request.

Products

All Finch & Hatton products are handmade from repurposed vintage and deadstock fabrics. Because of the nature of these materials:

• Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. Product photography represents the individual item listed.
• Minor variations in colour, texture, and finish are inherent to handmade work and are not considered defects.
• Once a piece sells, it cannot be reproduced exactly. If a listing is sold out, it is gone.
• All dimensions are approximate. Handmade products may vary by up to 1–2 cm from stated measurements.

Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable. Prices may change at any time without notice, but changes do not affect orders already placed.

Payment is processed securely via Square. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Your card details are never stored on our servers.

Custom Orders

Custom commissions are accepted subject to fabric availability and current studio capacity. By submitting a custom order request:

• You acknowledge that custom work requires a consultation and quote before any commitment is made.
• A deposit of 50% is required before work begins on any custom piece.
• Custom orders are non-refundable once fabric has been cut. See our Returns Policy for full details.
• Lead times vary; we will confirm an estimated completion date at the time of order.

If you are sending your own fabric for a custom commission, you do so at your own risk. We take reasonable care of all entrusted materials but cannot be held responsible for loss or damage caused by postal transit.

Intellectual Property

All website content — including product photography, copy, brand assets, and design — is owned by or licensed to Finch & Hatton. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission.

Accuracy of Information

We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, dimensions, and photography are accurate. However, colours may appear differently on different screens and devices. If you have questions about a specific piece, please contact us before purchasing.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Australian consumer law, Finch & Hatton's liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the value of the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010).

Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
